History
or how it all began for us
In 1997 we discovered the simple but explosive flavour of Pimientos
de Padron on the Canary Island of Lanzarote. With some Spanish friends
we sat down to lunch and they thought a local dish of Pimientos
de Padron would be a shock to our system – how wrong could they
be!
On future visits to Lanzarote, our Spanish friends would tease
us about how many we could consume in such a short space of two
weeks. These fruits became addictive and eventually we tracked down
a packet of seeds in Spain during 2000.
In 2001, we decided to trial the packet of seeds and to our great
surprise we managed to develop 30 very healthy plants that gave
us platefuls of Pimientos during the summer of 2001.
We are proud to say that some six years later we are looking at
producing our largest crop yet despite the good old English weather.
In addition, we are selling our lovely pimientos into restaurants
across the United Kingdom.
Anyone can buy direct from us through our contacts
page on this web site.
This is truly a sign that our English Pimientos are just as good
as the original Spanish.
